The MaxxRaxx Pioneer range

0.10
RRP:

This purpose of this page is to help you choose the MaxxRaxx Pioneer that is (1) suitable for your vehicle tow bar type, and (2) the most appropriate for your towing and bike carrying needs.

The aim of this page is to help you choose the correct MaxxRaxx Pioneer bike carrier for your vehicle and your needs.

A reminder that Pioneer is the MaxxRaxx range for vehicles with a small rear-door-mounted spare wheel; it's also suitable for vans and MPVs with a vertical tailgate, because the 125mm offset in the upright prevents the bike handlebars from touching the rear window glass.

All the detailed information about each model is shown on its individual product page.

How to choose the correct Pioneer model

First of all, do you have a bolt-on / flange ball tow ball, or a swan neck tow ball? These are pictured above, in case you are not sure.

Swan neck tow ball options:

If you have a swan neck tow ball and need to tow at the same time as carrying bikes, you need a MaxxRaxx Swan Neck Adapter. These must be professionally fitted, so please contact [email protected] for more information, or phone them on 01825 729460.

If you have a swan neck tow ball and do not need to tow at the same time as carrying bikes, your only option is a Pioneer EasyFixx, which fits over the tow ball, so click on one of the links below to visit the product page. If you want to carry 3 bikes, choose a 4 bike carrier and take off one of the Bike Cradles.

Bolt-on tow ball options:

If you have a bolt-on tow ball, and you might want to tow at the same time as carrying bikes, you definitely need a Pioneer FlangeBall.

If you have a bolt-on tow ball and do not need to tow, then you have to decide whether to choose an EasyFixx or a FlangeBall. If you are not sure, our recommendation is an EasyFixx, because your next car might have a swan neck tow bar, and swan neck tow bars are becoming much more common.

Remember, the MaxxRaxx is a "Cycle Carrier for Life", so if for example you get the urge in 10 years time to buy a trailer tent you can buy additional parts to convert your EasyFixx into a 'tow and carry' version!

Delivery FAQs

When will my order arrive?
There are no deliveries on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays, except for postable items where Royal Mail has a Saturday delivery. Express Delivery orders placed on a Friday (before 1pm) should be delivered on the Monday or Tuesday, Express Delivery orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday should be delivered on the Tuesday or Wednesday. The arrangements for Very Heavy Items are different and are shown above.

What about Next Working Day delivery?
Most Express delivery orders will arrive on the next working day, if the order is placed before the cut-off time (see above). Some will arrive on the second working day if there has been a "split-delivery". So-called “split deliveries” happen when the couriers do not have enough trailer space for everything that should be moved around the UK, so they will load what they can and leave the rest for the next trailer.

Is my delivery day guaranteed?
No retailer or courier company can ever "guarantee" a Next Working Day delivery. As well as split deliveries, all courier companies occasionally have the same transport problems as can happen to everyone else, including snow blocked roads, closed roads, traffic jams, mechanical breakdown, an inability to find the delivery address, or to gain access to it if, for example, it's in a block of flats. We work with some of the best couriers in the business, and overall they provide an outstanding service.

Do I need to be at home?
We are very flexible with our deliveries and will aim to deliver to an address which suits you – this does not need to be your home address. Goods can usually be left without signature - we prefer this with roof boxes. There's a "Special Delivery Instructions" box in the checkout area where we'll ask you to choose a typical instruction and then amend it to suit your particular requirements.
